How did it begin?
It began when the goddess Eris was not invited to a wedding. So she threw an golden apple into the room that had the words 'for the fairest' on it. The other goddesses Aphrodite, Athena and Hera started to argue over who it was for, all thinking it was for them. They asked Zeus to decide. He could not choose so he told them to ask Paris who came from Troy. Just like Zeus, Paris couldn't decide, so the goddesses began to bribe him. Hera offered him control of all of asia. Athena promised him wisdom and skill in battle. Aphrodite offered him the most beutiful woman. This was Helen who was married to the king of Sparta Menelaus. Paris picked Aphrodite.
What happened?
Aphrodite then cast a spell on Helen making her fall in love with Paris. Paris then took Helen back to Troy. Enraged Melenaus asked his brother Agamemnon to help attack the city of Troy. They tried for nine years to break through the walls of the city, but it was too fortified and guarded. Odysseus came up with a plan to trick the trojans. The trojan horse!
